Precision Series ▪ Designed Just for You
The entry point to the Precision Series. The P1.0 combines a single Tactic II driver with a Leonardo tweeter in a modern Precision Series enclosure, presented as a floor-standing monitor.
The P1.0 represents the ultimate fusion of performance and value—this speaker should be the first choice for those seeking Wilson Benesch’s award-winning Geometry Series trickle-down technology within a high-value design.
Featuring the Tactic 2.0 driver
Wilson Benesch created the first generation of its dynamic drive units in 2002. Since then, the Tactic Drive unit has evolved through three generations to reach its current form. Wilson Benesch pioneered the use of fully isotropic polypropylene in consumer products. This material achieves a unique balance between high specific stiffness and excellent damping, enabling the creation of minimalist, low-crossover designs.
Leonardo Tweeter
Wilson Benesch’s new high-frequency transducer technology: the Leonardo Tweeter. Developed directly through an iterative design approach, it succeeded the Fibonacci and Semisphere Tweeters. Like the Fibonacci tweeter in Wilson Benesch’s reference Eminence loudspeaker, the Leonardo Tweeter features a geometrically optimized and decoupled polymer-carbon fiber diaphragm. This entirely proprietary component is manufactured in-house using state-of-the-art 3D printing technology. The diaphragm functions as a waveguide, delivering optimal dispersion and phase characteristics for the Leonardo Tweeter.
Hybrid Enclosure
Central to the Precision Series design philosophy is the concept of employing multiple materials within the enclosure to create a hybrid structure. The Precision Series enclosures represent an engineered solution to the product design challenge of controlling the structural resonant energy within the speaker cabinet to minimize the enclosure’s Q factor as much as possible. The distinctive Precision Series top and bottom “caps,” while elegant in form, are actually critical components achieving this goal. Precision CNC-machined from solid aluminum billets, the caps lock the front and rear aluminum baffles into place with the wooden side panels. Thirteen-millimeter steel rods then bind the caps together along the vertical axis of the Precision Series enclosure. These rods support the enclosure and compress the entire structure, ensuring it remains as acoustically inert and rigid as possible. Additionally, tubular structures along the horizontal axis lock into pre-wired grooves, further enhancing the Precision Series enclosure’s rigidity and damping along that axis.
Comprehensive Booth
Just as the CNC-machined alloy top and bottom covers of the Precision series form an important part of the speaker cabinet, Wilson Benesch has integrated the bracket into the cabinet design of the P1.0 stand-mounted speaker. Unlike many upright speaker designs, the P1.0 cabinet is not simply mounted on top of the bracket; in fact, one end of the bracket is directly attached to the aluminum base plate of the P1.0 cabinet, and then to the other end of the bracket foot. A 13mm steel strip running the length of the bracket is concealed within the two vertical posts, gathering the mass located at the top of the bracket and attaching it to the mass at the foot, thus increasing the rigidity of the entire shell and bracket.
