Deutsche Elektronenröhren Manufaktur GmbH is the manufacturer of ELROG vacuum tubes. The company was founded by electronic tube amplifier designer and manufacturer Thomas Mayer in August 2016. Initially, ELROG tubes were produced by ELROG Elektronenröhren GmbH & Co KG, which was established in Lüneburg in 1986. The company’s roots can be traced back to the famous Dornier tube factory in Ulm. In 2016, due to financial problems, ELROG was forced into bankruptcy proceedings. Deutsche Elektronenröhren Manufaktur GmbH acquired all assets, production equipment, brand names, and proprietary technology. ELROG tubes continue to be produced on the original production line at the last location of the former ELROG company in Hagenow, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. The headquarters of Deutsche Elektronenröhren Manufaktur GmbH is located in Lindau, on the Lake Constance. Since the establishment of the new company, all vacuum tube designs have undergone significant upgrades to improve sound quality and long-term reliability. The product range, which originally started with the 211, 845, and 300B product lines, now includes 10 different types of tubes. These tubes are completely handmade in Germany by skilled and passionate individuals.
