At Dyrholm Audio, we develop our cables primarily through listening tests.Many attempts have been made to measure differences in cables, and there's no doubt that differences can be measured: the inductance and capacitance of different materials, as well as differences in isolation materials.However—unfortunately—these measurements don't actually tell us anything about how a cable should measure to sound "correct"!So, all cables have some degree of resistance, inductance, and capacitance, but it's never been proven that there's a definite relationship between the measured data and the actual sound of any given cable. If that were the case, it would be easy to create a cable that measured correctly, and the best cable ever would be the reality.The key point is: no measurement method or device can absolutely rival the human ear—hence Dyrholm Audio's development through listening tests. We do care about scientific parameters, but they're provided entirely through listening, and the key is the sonic perfection of our products. Therefore, none of our cables will damage your equipment, like some braided speaker cables from decades ago that burned out your amplifier due to an unfortunate combination of high inductance and capacitance.Therefore, at Dyrholm Audio, we spend hundreds of hours listening to the effects of different materials, knowing that every component in the cable affects the overall result. This includes the quality of the conductor material (copper, silver, gold); the mating surface of the conductors; the purity, diameter, and quantity of the conductors; and the isolation of the conductors, construction, and connectors used.When one or more of these components changes, the performance of the cable also changes. Therefore, producing the perfect cable is a never-ending process.Our products are handmade in Denmark, from raw wire to finished cable, from scratch to precise length. The core is composed of pure PUOCC copper, pure silver, or silver- or gold-plated copper. Because silver and copper wear (oxidize) over time, all cables are enclosed in a sealed tube that shrinks when heated, sealing the ends to prevent oxidation.
