As early as 1965, Tim Paravicini was involved in design work for rock bands, building his own PA equipment, and modifying studio equipment to achieve greater potential. In 1972, he was invited to become an audio designer for Luxman Japan. Tim quickly produced some of Luxman's most outstanding designs, including the remarkable C1000/M6000 pre/power amplifier combination and the later Luxman 3045. Tim also designed the actual output amplifier and the 8045 power tube. As always with his designs, the output transformer is Tim's own design.
Ear has designed a wide variety of hi-fi and studio components for both Audio Research and other domestic audio companies since 1976. Currently, EAR's professional product range includes tube microphone preamps, tube equalizers, and recording systems, all featuring the finest classic designs, sometimes supplemented by custom components, and has served some of the world's most renowned recording artists. His analog tube mastering recorders are renowned in the audio industry. Over the past two decades, Tim has collaborated with many different manufacturers. Designed the amazing A-1 amplifier for Musical Fidelity MF. Other products include A470/370, P270, Digilog, CD-T, etc.
