LS3/5A 簡史
LS3/5A 可能是 BBC 所有顯示器設計中最著名的。 BBC 需要一款小型監視器，適合在狹窄的外部廣播車輛和控制室中對節目品質進行嚴格評估。當時，商業上還沒有任何合適的產品。作為一項獨立研究計畫（對攝影棚聲學尺度的調查）的一部分，BBC 工程師開發了一款微型揚聲器。他們意識到它可以適用於監控用途。經過多次開發，最初的 LS3/5 誕生了。
最初，BBC 在內部建造了 20 台設備進行現場試驗。然而，當他們決定再生產一批時，很明顯 KEF 已經更改了兩個驅動單元。新的驅動單元與原始的驅動單元有很大不同，影響了揚聲器的測量和發聲方式。因此，重要的重新設計工作必須由 BBC 的設計部門完成。這與原始模型有很大的偏差，因此添加了“A”後綴。

As part of the testing procedure, all completed loudspeakers are compared to our master reference samples to ensure complete consistency.
