We developed our Horus tonearm in response to an avalanche of requests. We enjoy sharing our products at audio shows and we would hear often from customers wanting TriangleART performance in a reasonably priced tonearm. They asked us to maximize value by starting with the Osiris and avoiding or solving the compromises that doom so many mid-market tonearms to mediocrity. We took this as our challenge. We experimented with Gimball and Parallel Tracker designs before settling on the classic Unipivot design. We found most of the problems that commonly plague tonearms originate with poorly selected materials and inferior craftsmanship, rather than innate limitations of any particular design. From this beginning was born Horus, aptly named as the son of Osiris in Egyptology.
Horus’ classic, minimalist unipivot design is upgraded with the materials and approaches we perfected with the Osiris MkII, including Makassar ebony and brass. We stepped up to a diamond coating on the single point bearing to achieve the smoothest performance with the added benefit of with simple set-up. The sound achieved by Horus is clean and accurate, retaining the smooth and extremely musical quality for which Osiris MkII is known. Our design also permits on-the-fly
