TEMPO 35
The TEMPO 35 appears almost fragile, but cleverly conceals sophisticated engineering and intelligent design that makes it stand out in its class. Its slender, tall shape, gently angled, and forward-leaning side panels reduce rogue (i.e., unwanted natural vibrations of the cabinet) and standing waves within the speaker. Without countermeasures, these vibrations and standing waves can quickly produce an undifferentiated sound, sometimes even a buzzing sound. The TEMPO 35 is designed to address these dangers at their source.
Two high-performance bass drivers, each equipped with a robust aluminum diaphragm, are precisely positioned opposite each other on the sides of the TEMPO 35. The chassis position and switching, along with the so-called “push-push technology,” allow for a symmetrical distribution of forces on the speaker enclosure when using the speakers. A complete redesign of the bass chamber significantly contributes to improved impulse response. Open-pore ceramic foam replaces the traditional insulation material used to reduce sound dispersion into the speaker interior. With a porosity exceeding 85%, damping is significantly improved. The ceramic foam itself is very rigid, further stabilizing the speaker enclosure. The result is a level of precision achieved in this class.
The tweeter and midrange drivers are specifically designed for AUDIO PHYSIC, featuring a unique Hybrid Conical Construction (HHC technology) that combines the damping properties of modern polymers with the stability and torsional stiffness of metal. This effectively eliminates the detrimental effects on sound caused by the interaction between the suspension system and the chassis basket. The result is a smooth and uniform acoustic pattern from the fundamental tone all the way to the highest frequencies.
Like the tweeter, the TEMPO35’s midrange driver also has its own compartment. In addition to the meticulously crafted HHC basket structure, the midrange driver is equipped with a fixed phase plug made of metal. Depending on the material and volume of the music, the suspension system generates significant heat, which can alter certain parameters in some situations. The metal phase plug is an effective heat sink and also reduces compression behind the diaphragm. The new TEMPO35 features the latest generation midrange driver, HHCM III.
Speaking of tweeters, the TEMPO35 is equipped with the latest generation HHCT III chassis, which is also deployed in the larger AUDIO PHYSIC speaker.
The crossover has also undergone a complete overhaul, with selective protection for individual components against micro-vibrations and a visually simplified internal wiring design. Of particular importance is the inclusion of robust aluminum wire frames, also used in the AVANTI. These ensure easy handling and optimal contact with the floor. The result of these measures is significantly improved resolution, enhanced homogeneity, and a stunningly realistic musicality. The 1.35 also features a black magnetic fabric grille instead of the standard fabric grille.
The TEMPO 35’s stylish footwork makes installation easy and ensures a stable foothold on any surface. Thanks to the M8 threads, the TEMPO 35 can be easily fitted with Audio Physic VCF II Magnetic plus feet. Their advanced design significantly improves audio fidelity and reproduction realism. Furthermore, the VCF II M8 Magnetic plus feet protect sensitive floors from scratches.
